See Savannah Guthrie’s Daughter Meet Her Baby Brother in Adorable Video

2 minute read

Savannah Guthrie‘s daughter Vale is only 2 years old, but she already has this whole “big sister” thing on lock.

In a video that aired on the Today show Monday, the newly minted mom of two, 44, checked in with her fellow co-hosts just four days after giving birth to son Charles “Charley” Max.

“He’s happy and Vale loves him, which was a big relief,” Guthrie admits.

“I love you, baby brother,” Vale can be heard whispering before leaning over to plant a gentle kiss on the new baby.

Vale’s instant affection toward her new brother might have just been big sister intuition, but Guthrie says she and husband Michael Feldman employed a technique that might’ve helped at least steer their daughter in the right direction.

“Charley was in his bassinet when she walked in and then I put a lollipop in the bassinet,” says Guthrie, who explains she also put a photo of her daughter in the bassinet on the suggestion of Jenna Bush Hager. “So Vale went, ‘Oh baby brother — OH lollipop!’ ”

Charley himself has been a joy to the family. “It’s been great. He’s a good little eater and last night, we had a great night — we had two three-hour stretches of sleep,” Guthrie says.

“And he’s just adorable. He’s so cute. Everything’s working.”

The television star gives major props to husband Feldman, 48.

“He already was super Daddy, but now he’s super-SUPER Daddy,” she says. “He and Vale are so tight. It’s just so lovely and beautiful. We just feel so thankful.”

Guthrie hints that this might be her last baby with a sweet anecdote from her own mother about her reply when Guthrie asked why she didn’t have more kids after her.

“She said, ‘Because I just knew my family was complete,’ and I feel that way,” Guthrie shares. “I feel like my family is complete and we’re so happy.”
