California Woman Reunited With Husband After Surviving Kidnapping

1 minute read

Police are searching for two women in connection with the kidnapping of a California woman following her unexpected escape on Thanksgiving day, according to reports.

Sherri Papini, a California woman who went missing earlier this month, was found on the highway in Southern California three weeks after she disappeared, according to ABC News. Papini had been left by her captors near the Interstate 5 freeway and she eventually was able to flag down a passing driver to call the authorities. Police reunited her with her family later that day.

“Obviously she was emotional and quite upset, but elated to be freed,” said Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko on Good Morning America. “We will be following up with her.”
