Anna Kendrick and Billy Eichner Sing An Ode To Growing Up With James Corden

2 minute read

Anna Kendrick may have been born with a song in heart. Specifically, Adele’s “Hello.”

The Pitch Perfect star and Scrappy Little Nobody author returned to the scene of her birth on The Late Late Show Monday for a one-take musical about the circle of life co-starring Billy on the Street’s Billy Eichner and James Corden.

The follow up to Kendrick’s and Corden’s “The Soundtrack to a Love Story,” was called “The Soundtrack to Growing Up,” starring Eichner as Kendrick’s father and Corden as her beau. The musical medley told the story of life via a series of songs like Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It,” Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach” and “Like a Virgin,” Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” and Rihanna’s “B*tch Better Have My Money.”

At the end of the mini-musical, Eichner came to meet his grandchild, which called for a rousing rendition of Elton John’s song from The Lion King, “Circle of Life”.

It was a heartwarming—and slightly silly—reminder to be grateful for your family this Thanksgiving.
