Mitt Romney, former Republican presidential nominee, is under "active consideration" for secretary of state, Vice President-elect Mike Pence said in an appearance on Fox News Sunday.
Romney, who met with Donald Trump on Saturday at the President-elect's golf club in Bedminster, N.J., told reporters later that he and Trump had a "far-reaching conversation."
"They had a good meeting," Pence said. "It was a warm and a substantive exchange and I know he is under active consideration to be Secretary of State ... along with some other distinguished Americans."
The friendly meeting between Trump and Romney is in direct contrast to their relationship during the election year. Romney, a harsh critic of Trump, called him a "con man" and a "fake," while Trump referred to him as a "choke artist" for losing the 2012 election to President Obama.
