Lena Dunham’s Halloween costume this year holds the same level of subtlety as its inspiration.
The Girls creator and actress shared her outfit on Instagram: a cat, with one stray hand on her chest and another on her groin. The costume is derived from vulgar comments Republican nominee Donald Trump made on a 2005 Access Hollywood tape released earlier this month.
“Happy Halloween! With love from a Grabbed P—y … #imanass—-” Dunham, a staunch Hillary Clinton supporter, wrote.
On the Access Hollywood tape, Trump made lewd comments about women and described sexual acts without consent. “You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait,” he said. “And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p—y. You can do anything.”
After the release of the tape, 11 women accused Trump of varying degrees of sexual assault; the 70-year-old has vehemently denied all claims and threatened legal action against accusers.
