Nobody can resist a baby — and a certain royal one is boosting memorabilia sales at the palace!
That, coupled with Charlotte’s great grandmother Queen Elizabeth becoming the longest-reigning British monarch of all time and then passing her 90th birthday in April, caused a surge in sales at the palace shops and online.
The Charlotte china range has sold out online and there are only a few items left in the shops at and near Buckingham Palace, and at Windsor Castle, a spokeswoman for the collection confirms to PEOPLE.
“Retail sales bounced back,” following a disappointing year, an official report from Royal Collection Enterprises, found – and turnover increased by more than 11.2 percent. Online sales from April 2015 to March 2016 doubled, hitting more than $1.2 million for the first time.
“Merchandise relating to The Queen’s longest reign milestone in September 2015, and the 90th birthday celebrations in 2016 both helped to drive sale volumes,” the report adds.
Meanwhile, visitor numbers across Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Clarence House and Holyroodhouse and four other venues, were up to 2.5 million, a “slight improvement.”
