A video of an exceptionally talented paramedic singing an aria has gone viral, thanks to a Facebook video of the 37-year-old belting out a pitch-perfect version of famed tenor Luciano Pavarotti’s “Nessun Dorma” while chilling next to an emergency vehicle.
Lewis Quinn of Merseyside County, England is just your average local ambulance worker—who occasionally uses the soothing powers of his impressive opera singing on the job. The video has more than 48,000 views.
“My personality doesn’t suit pursuing a career in music, for that you have to be very egotistical,” Quinn told local newspaper The Liverpool Echo. Apparently, the unassuming paramedic had spent eight years studying music in the U.S. before returning to the U.K. and music ambitions to rest.
“When I moved back to England two years ago I initially got this job just to tread water, but I fell in love with it,” he said, adding that he really only busts out his vocal chops for colleagues—or some of the patients. “I sing for the patients in the back of the ambulance a lot though, particularly the dementia patients,” he told the paper.
