In an [interview with _Fast Company_](https://www.fastcompany.com/3063963/behind-the-brand/ivanka-trump-doesnt-flinch) published Monday, she was asked about rumors that she would have a position in a Donald Trump administration. “No, I don’t intend to be part of the government,” Ivanka Trump replied. She also pushed back at characterizations of her as an adviser to her father. “I am a daughter and an executive who has worked alongside him,” she said. Ivanka Trump, who has helped the Trump campaign with [outreach to women voters](http://time.com/4489898/donald-trump-joins-the-mommy-wars/), said she isn’t bothered by some of the more shocking accusations that have emerged about her father. The interview was conducted before a [recording leaked](http://time.com/4523755/donald-trump-leaked-tape-impact/) that featured Donald Trump bragging about groping women without their consent. “The greatest comfort I have is the fact that I know my father. Most of the people who write about him don’t. I do,” she said. “So that gives me an ability to shrug off the things that I read about him that are wrong,” In a statement provided to _Fast Company_ after the interview, she called her father’s lewd comments “inappropriate and offensive.” “I’m glad that he acknowledged this fact with an immediate apology to my family and the American people,” she said. And I know that anything she sets her mind to she does with her full heart. So I have no doubt that when she decides which platform she's going to prioritize, she'll be incredibly effective in that regard. [ MUSIC ] Melania is very smart. She is very warm. She's got an incredible heart. She's always been very charitable, and there are many organizations that she's worked with. Not just for a season, but over the course of many many years and decades in some cases so I'll leave it to her to put for where her platform will be. Melania is an unbelievable mother and you know it's pretty uncommon for. [ MUSIC ] Wives of candidates to not be on the campaign trail every day. And she made a decision I really respect. Which is that, she has a young son. He needs stability, he needs routine. My father is traveling so frequently. And she is an unbelievably consistent, loving, and reliable figure in Barron's life. So she takes him to school every day, picks him up every day, it's really a remarkable thing. And she's a great inspiration to me as I raise my own children, in terms of family first and having the right priorities. And I think she's done an amazing job also sheltering him from the chaos that comes along with a presidential campaign.
