Actress Sarah Paulson is now an Emmy winner, taking home the prize for best actress in a limited series for her portrayal of lead prosecutor Marcia Clark in The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. But Paulson, who brought Clark as her plus-one to TV’s biggest night in Los Angeles on Sunday and dedicated her Emmy win to Clark in her acceptance speech for the award. Her homage to the real-life woman behind her character didn’t stop there; she even had Clark’s name engraved alongside her own on the iconic trophy.
The two women, who walked the red carpet arm in arm, were let into the Emmy Winners’ Circle at the Governor’s Ball after party together for the engraving process, the LA Times reports. This isn’t the first time that Paulson has publicly expressed her respect and admiration for Clark; ever since taking on the role, she has made it a point to turn Clark’s oft-demonized story into one that is both relatable and impressive.
