And it didn’t go quite as planned. The premiere featured Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, who was [suspended](http://time.com/4484068/ryan-lochte-suspended-for-10-months/) for 10 months after [fabricating an armed robbery](http://time.com/4458466/ryan-lochte-rio-robbery-gas-station/) during the Rio Olympics. But surely no one anticipated that the event would warrant disruptive protest. E! News and other outlets [report](http://www.eonline.com/news/794053/ryan-lochte-gets-rushed-by-protesters-after-dancing-with-the-stars-performance) that just before Lochte and his partner Cheryl Burke were to be judged, “men wearing white anti-Lochte T-shirts” rushed the stage. Security personnel stabilized the situation. E! News also reports that there was apparently a whole coterie of protesters wearing the anti-Lochte shirts in the audience. Afterwards, the swimmer said he was “a little hurt.” “I came out here and I wanted to do something I was completely uncomfortable with, and I did,” he said. Two men were arrested after being led away from the scene in handcuffs, ABC[ reports](http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/dwts-security-incident-shouts-liar-greet-ryan-lochtes/story?id=42045819). My heart just sank, and I felt like someone just ripped it apart. But I just then I had to brush about, I had to realize the I came out here in from of millions. And did something that I don't know how to do. I don't know how to dance, and I gave it my all. And I'm glad that I did it and I'm glad that I'm here. That's Ryan Lochte talking to CNN after Monday night's dramatic Dancing with the Stars premier where two protestors stormed the ballroom floor after the six time Olympic medalist performed The Fox Trot with partner Sheryl Birk. The two men walked in front of the cameras as Judge Carry Ann [ UNKNOWN ] was giving her critique. Watch this. Way to go. Swimming is, excuse me. Hey, back off! Excuse me, excuse me. As the protesters walked in front of Tom Bergeron and yelled into the camera, the older of the two men was tackled by security and ABC is now releasing unaired footage of the incident. Watch this. Wow The two protesters, both wearing white Lochte shirts with a red circle and a line through his name, were not the only protesters at the show. While the man who was tackled by security was being off stage, there were four other women Booing in the crowd during the commercial break, wearing similar shirts to those protesters on the floor. Many of the audience members started chanting Ryan in support of the athlete, and that's when Derek Hough came to the rescue by yelling to security to get the four women protesting Lochte out of the audience, who were then quickly ushered out of the ballroom. Now, Derek is Exclusively talk to People after the incident, saying, this is my home and I was just so shocked that people would come here and be so negative. This is a safe place for people to learn a new skill, and seek redemption, or start a new chapter in their life, and that's what Ryan is trying to do. And I just felt so defensive that someone would try and ruin that for him And for everyone watching. So I took it upon myself to make sure they were escorted out. I wanted to protect my home. Jana Kramer, one of the stars on the show, talked about Ryan's emotional response to the protestors, saying Ryan was backstage and close to tears. Everyone makes mistakes and I really hope America gets to see the guy We are all getting to know, which is a really, really nice guy. And pro dancer Lindsay Arnold also commented on what went down defending Ryan saying I was backstage and when I heard the commotion I ran to the side of the stage and I was just in shock. I couldn't believe it was happening. I think it's a shame that people would feel the need to do that.
