‘Pokémon Go’ Coming to Apple Watch by End of Year

1 minute read

Wouldn’t it be nice if you didn’t have to drag your smartphone or tablet around just to capture all the elusive critters in Niantic and The Pokémon Company’s blockbuster Pokémon Go (read our review here)? If you could sidestep paying for that silly-sounding Bluetooth Pokéball? If you could instead use something that clings snugly to your wrist already?

Apple just made it so, announcing Apple Watch support for the popular creature-catching app, coming this fall. The new Apple Watch interlink will let you know both if Pokémon are nearby, as well as how far you’ll have to stroll to hatch your eggs. And in keeping with the game’s health-angled underpinnings, the app will log your play sessions as a workout on the watch.
