Trump will travel by helicopter to the presidential palace, avoiding highway gridlock and roadside protesters, the [New York _Times_ reported](http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/31/us/politics/donald-trump-mexico.html?%5Fr=0 "undefined"). The meeting will take place only hours before Trump gives a [major speech in Arizona](http://time.com/4470421/donald-trump-immigration-speech-arizona/ "undefined"), clarifying his often-controversial stance on immigration. The Mexican president has been one of Trump’s most vocal critics, and the billionaire [confirmed in a tweet](http://time.com/4473621/donald-trump-enrique-pena-nieto-mexico/ "undefined") Tuesday that he accepted an invitation to take a meeting before his Arizona speech. Trump has long called for building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, asserting that Mexico will pay for it.
