Ryan Lochte Is Now Endorsing a Tiny, Super-Loud Personal Alarm Called ROBOCOPP

1 minute read

Ryan Lochte is making a comeback after losing several big brands following his false story about being held at gunpoint in Rio.

The U.S. swimmer has partnered with ROBOCOPP, a company that makes personal security devices useful in the event of a robbery or attack. Called sound grenades, the device has a hook that will sound an alarm when removed.

Although major well-kcompanies like Speedo and Ralph Lauren dropped their sponsorships of Lochte, ROBOCOPP signed him because he “remains one of the greatest athletes of our generation,” Jill Turner, ROBOCOPP public relations director said.

Turner declined to comment when asked whether the sound grenade would have been useful to Lochte during his alleged gas station robbery.

Lochte demonstrated how to use the device in a video posted on Twitter, writing that he was excited to partner with ROBOCOPP.

“I don’t go anywhere without ROBOCOPP,” Lochte says in the video. “It’s this tiny device. All you do is pull the pin, and it releases a startling alarm that can get you out of a bad situation.”
