She revealed the news in Tuesday’s Summer Fiction issue of [Lenny Letter](http://www.lennyletter.com/) with a short story called “The Mechanic” and provided further detail on Instagram. “This issue was also an exciting lil’ way to let you know that I’m at work on my first fiction collection, Best and Always, to be published next year by Random House,” Dunham [wrote on Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/BJu0Eo3A%5FGw/?taken-by=lenadunham&hl=en). “Thrilled to share a hint of it with you.” “The Mechanic,” explores the a relationship between a 21-year-old and an older mechanic. _Best and Always_ will be Dunham’s first collection of fiction.
