Another day, another panda having a more important party than you.
Throngs of visitors and media came to Malaysia’s National Zoo in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the tenth birthday of famous pandas Liang Liang and her one-year-old cub Nuan Nuan on Tuesday. (The mother panda was born on Aug. 23, 2006, and her one-year-old cub was born on Aug. 18, 2015, according to the Wall Street Journal.)
Pandas have become symbols of political diplomacy, and Liang Liang actually traveled to Malaysia on loan to commemorate forty years of diplomatic ties between China and Malaysia, according to Xinhuanet. The zoo commemorated the occasion with great ceremony. There was even a towering colorful cake, which the panda considered, but didn’t appear to be that interested in from the video.
