A teenager phoned in an [emergency call to 911](http://time.com/4376706/woman-calls-911-cheese-pizza/) because it seems she was stuck on a family trip.

[According to the CBC](http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/mississauga-teen-911-call-cottage-1.3730054), the Mississauga 15-year-old called [the police](http://time.com/4436714/man-arrested-after-getting-violent-over-a-grilled-cheese-sandwich-with-too-much-cheese/) because her parents “forced her” to vacation with them at a rental cottage in Trent Hills, Toronto. Ontario Provincial Police visited to ensure all was well, and told CBC News, “this appeared to be a case of a teenager being a teenager.” The authorities added: “although she perceived this as a real issue, it was not an appropriate use of 911.”

Someone might think that a long-awaited trip to the countryside seems like [a nice enough time](https://www.canadastays.com/waterfront-two-bedroom-cottage-rent-campbellford-on-p263760), so that maybe, even if everyone wasn’t best friends forever, they could all at least admire the scenery with mutual respect. But it turns out for this teen, it was a hard no. It seems being there with relatives she did not relate to, people with whom she could never in a million years enjoy jam with, was a true crime.

By taking her on a lovely trip, they were quite possibly effectively destroying her life.
