Donald Trump [doubled down on recent remarks](http://time.com/4447918/trump-accuses-obama-of-being-the-founder-of-isis/) calling President Obama and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton the “founders” of the Islamic State in an interview with a conservative radio host.

During [a segment on _The Hugh Hewitt Show_](http://www.hughhewitt.com/donald-trump-makes-return-visit/), the Republican nominee again linked the two to the terrorist group that has seized parts of Syria, Iraq and Libya, despite skeptical questions from Hewitt, who has [sparred with Trump](http://time.com/4037239/second-republican-debate-transcript-cnn/) in the past.

Trump’s [remarks at a Wednesday rally](http://time.com/4447918/trump-accuses-obama-of-being-the-founder-of-isis/) were not the first time that Trump has called Clinton or Trump “the founders of ISIS.” In January, he [said ](http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/02/politics/donald-trump-barack-obama-hillary-clinton-created-isis/)“Hillary Clinton created ISIS with Obama.” After the Orlando nightclub shooting, [he was criticized](http://time.com/4371602/donald-trump-barack-obama-hillary-clinton-isis-syria/) for suggesting Obama supports ISIS. Last week at another Florida event, Trump called Clinton the “founder of ISIS.”

During a Thursday morning speech, Trump [again repeated](https://twitter.com/NBCNews/status/763757494250246144) his comments, saying, “ISIS will hand (Clinton) the Most Valuable Player award.”

Clinton responded on Twitter Thursday.
