And not in the way their kids want. In an Instagram video posted by Drake, [the _Views_ rapper](http://time.com/4383630/watch-president-obama-sing-drakes-song-of-the-summer-one-dance/?iid=sr-link1) and his friend Lorenzo Cromwell try to convince [Drake’s hard-partying father Dennis Graham](http://time.com/4430823/drakes-dad-arkells-music-video/?iid=sr-link1) to leave a New York City club where they were celebrating after Drake’s show, ostensibly so the boys could have their own fun without worrying about parental supervision. But Drake’s dad seems quite content to keep popping bottles. “I know Mom said you could stay, Dad, but go home,” Drake says in the video. “Daddy! Dad, yo! Pop, go home!” Cromwell says, giving us a shot of the man in question — topped off in a white bucket hat — and seemingly unbothered by their entreaties as he lives it up. Sorry, Drake: Dennis Graham isn’t about to leave the club. In fact, he’s only getting started, as the elder Graham just [announced in his own Instagram post](https://www.instagram.com/p/BI6rKdbgHT8/?taken-by=therealdennisg) that he’s launching an independent R&B music career. And he’s no stranger to parties; his love for nights on the town is well-documented [on his prolific Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/therealdennisg/), where he most recently appears to be living it up while accompanying [his son’s _Summer Sixteen_ tour. ](http://time.com/4428146/kanye-west-taylor-swift-drake/?iid=sr-link7) ```json [{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"NewsArticle","@id":"https://time.com/4446888/drake-dad-instagram-video/","mainEntityOfPage":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://time.com/4446888/drake-dad-instagram-video/"},"headline":"Drake Is Not Pleased His Dad Is Cramping His Party Style","datePublished":"2016-08-10T18:06:46.000Z","dateModified":"2026-04-13T07:35:19.579Z","description":"He's staying for much more than One Dance","url":"https://time.com/4446888/drake-dad-instagram-video/","keywords":["Newsfeed","Entertainment","celebrities","Music"],"thumbnailUrl":"","author":[{"@type":"Person","name":"Raisa Bruner","jobTitle":null,"url":"https://time.com/author/raisa-bruner/"}],"articleSection":"","image":[],"publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Time","url":"https://time.com/","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://time.com/images/logo.png","width":528,"height":156},"foundingDate":"March 3, 1923","sameAs":["https://www.facebook.com/time","https://www.instagram.com/time/?hl=en","https://twitter.com/time","https://www.pinterest.com/timemagazine"]}},{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"item":{"@id":"/tag/time-section-newsfeed/","name":"Newsfeed"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"item":{"@id":"https://time.com/4446888/drake-dad-instagram-video/","name":"Drake Is Not Pleased His Dad Is Cramping His Party Style"}}]}] ```
