The world of Girl Scout cookies is about to expand in a very exciting way — with not one but two entirely new flavors to their classic lineup of addictive sweet treats.
The new flavors, Girl Scouts tells PEOPLE Food, will include S’mores — a “crispy graham cookie double dipped in a crème icing and enrobed in a chocolatey coating,” which is vegan, as well as a “crunchy graham sandwich cookie with a chocolate and marshmallowy filling.” Do those both sound a lot like s’mores in cookie form? Good, because they’re supposed to; they’re a “nod to the different ways people s’more,” according to a statement, and they’re being announced today in honor of National S’mores Day. It’s also a celebration of 100 years of Girl Scouts selling cookies, and they’re a campfire classic treat, which is a neat confluence of traditions.
The cookies won’t be available until 2017, but you can certainly start dreaming of your order now. In the meantime, you can celebrate National S’mores Day by hitting up a campfire, toasting some marshmallows, and getting some sticky s’mores action going yourself. Or pick up some Girl Scout cookie baking mix if you’re now craving a Thin Mint or five.
