Edward Snowden and WikiLeaks have earned notoriety for their work collecting and disseminating government secrets. But this week the two butted heads over how to approach the practice.
The conflict played out on Twitter after Snowden criticized WikiLeaks’ “hostility to even modest curation.” The organization shot back at Snowden, accusing the former defense contractor of trying to win a pardon from a potential president Hillary Clinton. Snowden is currently living in Russia to avoid criminal charges in the U.S.
WikiLeaks was back in the news this week after releasing emails from Democratic Party officials in a move that led to the resignation of the party’s chair.
