British politician and Brexit backer Nigel Farage will attend the Republican National Convention this month, and he says his experience with the referendum holds lessons for the U.S.
But he won’t exactly say what those lessons are. In an interview with USA Today, Farage did not elaborate on what American politicians could learn from Brexit, and declined to say who invited him to the Republican National Convention. “It was not Trump,” he said.
Farage criticized President Obama for getting involved in U.K. politics by opposing Brexit, so he said he would not interfere with U.S. politics himself. “Having criticized President Obama for getting involved in British politics, I am not about to endorse anybody [in the U.S. election],” he said. “But I do know a lot of people in the Republican Party, and I’ll be interested to hear what Donald Trump has to say in his big speech.”
