By Monday afternoon Orlando police had released the names of 45 [victims](http://time.com/4365877/orlando-shooting-jk-rowling-luis-vielma-harry-potter/ "undefined") who lost their lives, using an [official website](http://www.cityoforlando.net/blog/victims/ "undefined") the city designed to post updates on the deceased. Among those killed in the [deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history](http://time.com/4365325/orlando-shooting-pulse-nightclub-deadliest-history/?xid=homepage "undefined") were Edward Sotomayor Jr., Stanley Almodovar III, Luis Omar Ocasio-Capo and Juan Ramon Guerrero, according to the site. Authorities said they are working to identify other victims and notify their loved ones before making any other names public. > [](https://twitter.com/OrlandoPolice/status/742083628834885637) Many of the injured victims are in critical condition at the hospital, Dr. Michael Cheatham of the Orlando Regional Medical Center told reporters at a news conference. “On this very difficult day, we offer heartfelt condolences to today’s victims and their families,” the City of Orlando wrote on its victims’ page. “Our City is working tirelessly to get as much information out to the families so they can begin the grieving process.
