ABC announced that it is canceling the musical drama, along with a whole host of other shows, including newcomer _The Family_ along with fan favorite _Castle,_ whose cancellation was not a surprise in the wake of the announcement that star Stana Katic was leaving the mystery series. A total of 12 broadcast series were sent to the TV graveyard on Thursday in advance of next week’s fall presentations to advertisers, known in the industry as the upfronts. ABC did the most house cleaning, letting go of musical _Galavant_ along with its attempt an adult reboot of _The Muppets_, which never found an audience. _Agent Carter_, which, despite a finely-tuned performance by star Hayley Atwell, was the first Marvel series to be axed. ABC also reportedly passed on picking up the _Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D._ spin-off _Marvel’s Most Wanted_, [according](http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/agent-carter-canceled-at-abc-893499 "undefined") to _The Hollywood Reporter._ In addition to the ABC shows, Fox, cancelled the Rob Lowe and Fred Savage comedy _The Grinder_, along with the John Stamos vehicle _Grandfathered_, the animated series _Bordertown,_ and _Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life_. And, yes, there was no second chance for _Second Chance_. Earlier in the week, CBS announced it was shutting down _CSI: Cyber,_ which was the last remaining _CSI_ property on television, marking the first time since 2000 that there has not been a version of _CSI_ playing in primetime. The CW cancelled its quarantine thriller _Containment,_ but picked up _Supergirl_ from its sister network CBS. Fans don’t need to be completely heartbroken, though.
