More than half of registered voters said they [could not see themselves supporting ](http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/first-read/unpopularity-contest-poll-shows-grim-outlook-2016-winner-n557821)Donald Trump, Ted Cruz or Hillary Clinton in a new poll.

The [NBC News/_Wall Street Journal_ poll](http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/MSNBC/Sections/A%5FPolitics/16229%20NBCWSJ%20April%20Poll.pdf) found that Donald Trump elicited the most responses from registered voters saying they “could not see” themselves supporting him, with 68% agreeing. Some 61% said the same about Cruz, 58% about Clinton, and just under 50% for both Bernie Sanders and John Kasich.

Still, should their party’s current front runner become the nominee, 73% of Democrats said they would be satisfied with Clinton as their candidate, compared with 63% of Republicans who said they would be satisfied with Trump.

“The Republicans have a party problem, and the Democrats have a candidate problem,” explained Democratic pollster Peter Hart, who worked on the poll. His Republican colleague commented, “As primaries go deeper, the opposition \[becomes\] more negative.”

The poll was conducted among 1,000 registered voters from April 10 to 14 and has an overall margin of error of +/- 3.1%.
