Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders continued to spar on Saturday over discussions about scheduling a debate in New York next week, [ahead of the state’s April 19 primary](http://time.com/4278071/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-gun-control-new-york/).

Clinton’s campaign accused Sanders’s camp of rejecting three possible dates for a debate and using the ongoing discussion to attack the former Secretary of State. Sanders’s campaign, in turn, accused Clinton of rejecting other dates they proposed, [ABC News reported](http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/hillary-clinton-campaign-accuses-bernie-sanders-playing-games/story?id=38106197).

“Over the course of the last week, we have offered three specific dates for a debate in New York, all of which the Sanders campaign rejected,” Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon said in a Saturday statement, according to the network “The Sanders campaign needs to stop with the games.”

The talks began after the Sanders campaign [called for another debate](http://www.politico.com/story/2016/03/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-next-debate-221379) ahead of the contested New York primary, Politico reported this week. Clinton’s campaign offered to debate Sanders during the coming week on Monday night, Thursday night or Friday on “Good Morning America.”

“Unfortunately, the dates and venues she has proposed don’t make a whole lot of sense,” Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs shot back in a statement. “The idea that they want a debate in New York on a night of the NCAA finals—with Syracuse in the tournament no less—is ludicrous. We have proposed other dates which they have rejected. We hope we can reach agreement in the near future.”

Syracuse is one of the schools competing in the March Madness Final Four games on Saturday. The winners will advance to Monday’s championship game.

Fallon spoke out again against Sanders in a series of Tweets on Saturday, accusing the Vermont senator’s campaign of using the debate talks to “falsely attack Clinton to get headlines.”

## Transcript

My focus is on more good paying jobs with rising incomes for families. Billionaires and Wall Street should not be buying elections. We gotta end this rigged economy. It was a very close race. We've had some of those. I've won some. I've lost some. But, I was very pleased by the overall outcome last night. Our message Of the need for people to stand up and tell corporate America and Wall Street that they cannot have it all is resonating across this country. Bernie Sanders is the strongest candidate to defeat Donald Trump. [ APPLAUSE ] I did not send or receive any emails marked classified at the time.

What you're talking about is retro- active classification. If you get indicted, would you drop out? For goodness, that is not gonna happen, I'm not even answering that question. [ APPLAUSE ] I am staunchly in favor of comprehensive immigration reform and have been so over the course of my public career. My priorities are to deport violent criminals. Terrorists and anyone who threatens our safety. I would not deport children, I do not want to deport family members, either. [ APPLAUSE ] No, I will not deport children from the United States of America. And can We do not, as Donald Trump and others have done, resort to racism and xenophobia and bigotry.

He's talking about A very tall wall. [ LAUGH ] Right? A beautiful, tall wall- [ LAUGH ]- That he would somehow magically get the Mexican government to pay for. And you know, it's just fantasy. When you get paid $ 225, 000 That means that that speech must have been an extraordinarily wonderful speech. I would think that a speech so great that you got paid so much for it, that you'd like to share it with the American people, so I think she should. I have a public record, and you can go look it up. I went to Wall Street before the great recession and basically called them out. Rarely do secretary's words to Wall Street has really intimidated them and that is why they have given her $ 15 million in campaign contributions.

And I am proud that the gentleman who is head of Goldman Sachs, he didn't give me $ 225, 000 for speaking fees, he said I was dangerous, and he's right. I am dangerous for Wall Street. I would be honored to have your support In the upcoming primaries on Tuesday and hope to have the great honor of serving you as your president. In the wealthiest country in the history of the world, if we stand up, fight back, we can do a lot better. That's why I'm running for president.
