Full Frontal with Samantha Bee debuted Monday night on TBS—and she quickly pounced all over the 2016 presidential race, calling the Republican candidates “a banquet of all-you-can-eat crazy” and characterizing Saturday’s debate as a “cascade of fail.”
“I have to be honest with you. We wrote like two hours of jokes about Democrats, but we had to throw them all out because then the Republicans laid out a banquet of all-you-can-eat crazy,” said Bee, who was formerly a correspondent on The Daily Show.
Bee mocked Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s “scripted” debate performance, described Texas Sen. Ted Cruz as suffering from “stage 4 cancer of the personality” and ridiculed all of them for failing to walk out on stage smoothly.
“Saturday’s Republican debate went off the rails at about the negative 1 minute mark, when 43% of Republican candidates failed the important presidential test: Can you walk successfully to a podium—a task routinely mastered by laboratory mice and frightened 4-year-olds on Toddlers and Tiaras,” she said.
