Apple will recall millions of wall adapters used with its popular devices, the company announced on Thursday, due to an apparent fault that could result in electric shocks to users.
According to a statement on the tech giant’s website, it has determined that “in very rare cases, the two prong Apple AC wall plug adapters designed for use in Continental Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Argentina and Brazil may break and create a risk of electrical shock if touched.”
The defect has been discovered in adapters sold between 2003 and 2015 with Apple’s Mac computers and “certain iOS devices,” the company said. Adapters used for the U.S., U.K., China and Japan, as well as USB adapters, remain unaffected.
