Front-runner [Hillary Clinton](http://time.com/4183978/democratic-debate-hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-guns/) faced off with opponents [Bernie Sanders](http://time.com/4183979/democratic-debate-bernie-sanders-criminal-justice-wall-street/) and Martin O’Malley in Charleston, S.C. Clinton leads Sanders nationally while the two are in a tight race over Iowa voters—with O’Malley in a distant third. This was the last chance for the three candidates to woo voters before Iowa.
