HBO has cleared up the mystery surrounding the _Game of Thrones_ season 6 premiere: The Emmy-winning fantasy hit will return April 24. The cable network’s acclaimed comedy _Silicon Valley_ and its Emmy-winning companion _Veep_ will also return on the same night. As EW first reported, _Thrones_ is [debuting later than ever this year](http://www.ew.com/article/2015/10/29/game-thrones-season-6-premiere-date "undefined"), though not by all that much. The series typically returns in late March, early or mid April. But HBO’s winter block is being given a later-than-usual launch next month, which in turn pushes back _Thrones_, _Veep,_ and _Silicon Valley_ returning to the schedule. Next month Martin Scorsese’s ’70s-set record label drama _Vinyl_ starts Sunday, Feb. 14 with a two-hour premiere. A week later, comedies _Girls_ and _Togetherness_ join the night. Earlier this week, _Thrones_ author [George R.R. Martin admitted](http://www.ew.com/article/2016/01/02/george-rr-martin-thrones-winds-of-winter "undefined") he wasn’t going to get the next novel in his A Song of Ice and Fire saga completed in time for the new season, paving the way for the HBO series to delve entirely into previously unrevealed narrative territory for the first time.
