Amy Schumer Doesn’t Know ‘How Realistic It Is’ to Have Kids of Her Own

Breakout star Amy Schumer is not afraid to show her serious side, and recently got candid about her future with Barbara Walters.

Schumer, 34, sat down with Walters’ for the hosts’ Most Fascinating People of 2015 segment – which aired on Thursday on ABC – and discussed whether or not she sees herself having a family of her own.

“I would love those things, but I don’t really see it for myself,” she said. “I hope that happens, but I don’t know how realistic it is.”

While the Trainwreck star is unsure about kids of her own, she’s a doting aunt to her niece Ida, who she playfully nicknamed #thedutchess on Instagram.

One thing Schumer is sure about for her future is the creative goals she wants to achieve. The actress-comedienne told Walters that in the next ten years, she see herself continuing to express her creative side, but perhaps in a behind-the-scenes role.

“I want to be expressing myself creatively somehow, as a director or producer,” she said.

Schumer also discussed the July shooting during a screening of her summer blockbuster, Trainwreck, in Lafayette, Louisiana.

While the situation was personal for her, Schumer refuses to live in fear.

“I’ve gotten death threats for almost ten years, just from doing stand up,” she revealed. “Did this animal seek out my movie? From the way he felt about women, it sounds like he did. If I can help at all, I’m going to try. Even if that means I’ll get hurt.”
