The new generation of troubled teens battles with heartache and at least one of the young characters appears to struggle with a life-threatening illness, the minute-long clip shows. Many feared the long-running hit teen soap would be axed by TeenNick in July, [Entertainment Weekly reported](http://www.ew.com/article/2015/06/09/degrassi-next-class-netflix), but the cult Canadian drama series was picked up by Netflix, which will air the 20 new episodes starting January 15th.
