Ford is recalling more than 450,000 cars in North America due to a potential fuel leak issue, the company said Monday.
The Michigan-based motor company issued recalls for certain 2010-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Some of the models may contain malfunctioning canister purge valves that could crack under pressure and lead to gas leaks, the American automaker said.
There are about 411,000 affected vehicles in the United States, 34,000 in Canada and 7,000 in Mexico. Ford said there have been no reported injuries related to the defect.
Ford’s safety announcements come after massive April recalls for nearly 400,000 Ford cars in the U.S, over fears that broken latches could cause doors to swing open mid-drive.
