Facebook’s New Photo Filter Lets You Show Solidarity With Paris

1 minute read

Facebook is helping users show their support for the people of Paris in the wake of Friday’s terror attacks by allowing them to apply the colors of France’s national flag to their profile pictures.

The feature is similar to one Facebook rolled out earlier this year that allowed users to apply rainbow-colored filters to their profile pictures to celebrate gay pride.

Users can activate the blue, white and red filter by going to Facebook’s product/service page and clicking the “Try it” button on a post about the new filter that’s pinned to the top of the page’s feed. Users also have the option of setting an automatic expiration date for the filter.

At least 129 people were killed in the attacks across six sites in Paris Friday evening. Authorities are continuing to investigate.
