The pair joined forces on Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” and Timberlake’s “Drink You Away” and fans couldn’t have been more pleased. “We had these nominations and thought we were gonna get, maybe, a slot to perform,” [Stapleton told ABC News](http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/cma-awards-2015-chris-stapleton-justin-timberlake-perform/story?id=34978089) before the Wednesday night show. “So I called him up and asked him if he’d be interested in doing it and he was like, ‘Yeah man, I’m in. Here are our favorite moments of the night. First, an epic Star Wars sketch. There were Storm Troopers, Luke Bryan as Darth Vader, and Carrie Underwood as Carrie Fisher, aka Princess Leia. Darth Vader, sorry to bother you The entire Star Wars bit has been cut. No! Luke, you're supposed to be Luke. This is so much cooler. Is Ms. Underwood trying to tell us she's preparing to take her husband, Mike Fisher's last name? Then came Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood's opening monologue, which definitely pushed a few boundaries. [ MUSIC ] Too soon Brad, too soon. Also a little too soon. This. And of course we can't ignore the break up that really rocked our world. The one that's on everybody's mind. Two people in this very room whom we all know and love. Next, Justin Timberlake completely crushed his duet with Chris Stapleton. [ MUSIC ] The awards led by Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town, each with three wins.
