A 10-year-old was bitten by a shark in Hawaii, officials confirmed Thursday.
Raymond Senensi was bitten on Wednesday at Makaha Beach Park in Oahu, USA Today reports.
Senensi said he was on a boogie board waiting for a wave when the shark appeared. “I kicked him with this leg and then I kicked him in the nose. And then, I didn’t panic,” he said.
Senensi is recovering and due to be released from the hospital shortly. This marks Hawaii’s seventh shark encounter this year.
