Rowling will feature an adult Harry Potter and his son, Albus Severus Potter. The plot will pick up where the books left off, 19 years after the battle with Voldemort—Rowling describes _Harry Potter and the Cursed Child_ as “the eighth story in the series” on her [Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/JKRowling/photos/a.277495799025710.57628.277489075693049/817784868330131/?type=3&theater). According to a description on the show’s website, the plot will depict Harry as “an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.” “While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs,” the description continues, “his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.” The play will run in two parts, which theatergoers can see on the same or separate days.
