As sure as Biff Tannen’s Grays Sports Almanac wagers, it was a safe bet that the Screen Junkies team would pick the Back to the Future trilogy as its honest trailer for Future Day.
And though hoverboards and Jaws 19 have not come to pass as Back to the Future: Part II predicted, the honest trailer has, diving into all three parts of Robert Zemeckis’ trilogy. From 1985 to 1955 back to 1985 to 2015 to 1985 to — well, you get the point — the honest trailer tracks the time-jumping adventures of Doc Brown and Marty McFly (or the inspiration for Rick and Morty, depending on your love of the Adult Swim show).
Watch the trailer above to be reminded of the original film’s less savory plot points, how all three films share plenty of DNA, and question just why everyone’s bloodlines in Hill Valley result in such similar looking ancestors and descendants. And for more Future Day celebrations, check out the Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd Toyota reunion ad and hear both stars reprise their roles in the new LEGO Dimensions.
