Julio Iglesias Says He’ll Never Play a Trump Casino Again

1 minute read

Latin music star Julio Iglesias is fed-up with Donald Trump. The best-selling artist and father to Enrique Iglesias told the Barcelona newspaper La Vanguardia that he will no longer perform at Trump’s casinos.

“He seems to be an asshole,” Iglesias reportedly told the newspaper. He also called Trump a “clown,” then apologized to clowns.

Iglesias explained his perspective further in a later interview with the the New York Times: “I’ve met Trump three or four times because I’ve played his places,” he said. “I think his brain and his heart are not connected right now. It’s not correct, his position.”

Iglesias’ comments come after a series of incendiary comments Trump has made about immigrants, including calling undocumented Mexican immigrants “rapists.” The Spanish-language network Univision also cut ties with Trump over his comments.

If these threats to his business empire have Trump worried, he’s not letting on. In a statement responding to Iglesias’ decision, Trump said: “Good, I don’t like his voice or his performances anymore, anyhow!”
