Janet Jackson, N.W.A Among Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees

1 minute read

The 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations are out, with nominees including Janet Jackson, Nine Inch Nails and rap group N.W.A., continuing its streak of newfound relevance after the hit biopic Straight Outta Compton.

Other nominees include Chicago, Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, the Cars, The Smiths and Yes.

The decision is now partly in the hands of voters to push for which musicians should be inducted. Voting concludes on December 9, when a ‘fans’ ballot’ will be included when the Rock Hall voting body makes the final decision.

The winners will be announced in December and inducted in April in New York.

Jackson could join her late brother, Michael Jackson, who’s been inducted twice, once in 1997 for The Jackson 5 and once in 2001 as a solo artist.
