Tinder Adds a ‘Super Like’ Button to Let Users Show Eagerness

1 minute read

In dating, it’s all about showing that special someone that… well, they’re special.

So on Wednesday, dating app Tinder introduced a new honor you can bestow upon a potential match: the “Super Like.”

Now Tinder users have the added option of tapping a blue star icon—or swiping up, in keeping with Tinder’s iconic user interface—to tell a potential match “that they stand out from everyone else,” as the company said in a blog post.

If a user “super-likes” a match, Tinder will denote that with a blue footer when their profile shows up in the other person’s stream to let them know of their eagerness. If that second person returns the feeling and swipes to the right approve them, the two will be matched and can start privately chatting in the app, as usual.

And to really make sure the Super Like remains special, users will only get to use the new feature once per day, and they don’t roll over, the company warns.
