The Tinder labyrinth is a social experiment in and of itself, but beauty vlogger Alexa Mitchell decided to take the dating app one step further by plotting a little test of her own.
In an interview with BuzzFeed, the 22-year-old explains she wanted to find out how many Tinder matches she would score with a natural profile picture, as opposed to one where she was gussied up and even retouched.
After posting three photos of herself sans makeup (and keep in mind she still looked pretty darn fresh-faced) Mitchell swiped right to let 100 men know she was interested. In a five hour time span she received 16 matches from the subjects.
Mitchell then used the Relook app to digitally retouch her photos to add a bit of a glow to her look, whitening her teeth a touch and brightening her face. She then swiped right telling another set of 100 men she was interested. This time she reeled in 73 matches. That’s a seriously big bump after a little retouching.
