Anyone who’s a fan of Taylor Swift and Harry Potter — just a few people — may wonder what the two have in common. Here’s the latest answer.
YouTuber weasleysweaters (Kate Parkin) turned some of Swift’s 1989 songs into Potter-referencing tracks, which she sings dressed up as your favorite Hogwarts characters. There’s Harry, Ron, and Hermione. It’s only fitting she does most of the work, belting “Welcome to Hogwarts.” (It’s been waiting for you.)
A snotty Malfoy also appears and is rightfully shunned out of the frame, berated for creating “Bad Blood” with his “Mudblood” diss. Luna Lovegood pops up, and J.K. Rowling is dubbed “our queen” in the lyrics.
“And of course, thank you J.K. Rowling for writing these beautiful stories,” Parkin writes in the video’s description. “Happy birthday to you and the Boy Who Lived – I released this video as close to July 31st as I could in your honor! And thank you T.Swift for writing such catchy tunes!!”
Catch the whole thing above and imagine the frantic parody of “Out of the Woods” led by Hagrid’s sultry pipes. (Please make this happen.)
