In the days since, many of them have [disappeared](http://toucharcade.com/2015/06/25/apple-removes-confederate-flag/ "undefined"). Games Labs’ _Ultimate General: Gettysburg,_ for example, is no longer available. Nor is _Hexwar’s Civil War 1863_. Or Apptopia’s _Southern Pride Themes!_ with its lavish display of Confederate flags. Having spent much of last week visiting history museums in New Orleans—including [Confederate Memorial Hall](http://confederatemuseum.com/ "undefined"), the oldest museum in Louisiana—I have mixed feelings about trying to completely eradicate the memory of slavery and its consequences. We study the ugly side of American history in part so we won’t repeat it. So pardon me if I take perverse pleasure in noting that as of Thursday, the App Store had not been scrubbed entirely clean. Nadella's Microsoft has let go of nearly 15,000 employees this year — a chunk of whom were made redundant when Microsoft closed an approximately $7.2 billion deal for Nokia's device wing.
