On June 18th Pizza Hut will begin selling its much-hyped new item: a pepperoni (or other topping of your choosing) pizza surrounded by 28 mini hot dogs baked into the crust. Naturally, Jon Stewart decided to talk about this on _The Daily Show_ Tuesday night, connecting it to some other recent news: Donald Trump’s presidential bid.

“If the Donald is running for president, we’re gonna need an appropriate nosh to celebrate,” Stewart said. “But what food could possibly match the depravity and excess of a Donald Trump candidacy?”

Enter the “hot dog bites pizza.” Stewart’s first comment about this fast food monstrosity: “What kind of idiot would willingly put this in their mouth?”

From there, he goes into a really elaborate (and, warning, really graphic) monologue about this food item, so prepare yourself.

[00:01] There's nothing more American than eating a hot dog
[00:03] on the 4th of July, but the tradition of tubular meat
[00:06] goes way back. It's Coney Island's caviar! One of the
[00:10] earliest mentions of the sausage is in Homer's odyssey
[00:13] where heroes held competitions to get the best dog.
[00:16] The modern hotdog's origins are contentious, with both
[00:19] Frankfurt and Vienna claiming to be the originators.
[00:22] Regardless, these tasty dogs made their way from the
[00:24] Old World to the New with German immigrants, as did
[00:27] their tradition of eating the little sausages on bread.
[00:30] [ MUSIC ] In the late 1800s,
[00:35] German immigrants sold hot dogs out of push carts in
[00:37] big cities. But in 1893, a simultaneous double
[00:41] whammy of the popularity of sausage at the Chicago's
[00:43] World's Fair and baseball park vendors made hot dogs
[00:46] a national food. Hot dog [ INAUDIBLE ] dog. Nowadays,
[00:52] American's eat about 20 billion hot dogs a year or
[00:55] about 70 per person. Unless your in Nathans Hotdog
[00:59] eating contest and decide to eat 70 in just ten
[01:02] minutes. Why don't you try a juicy, good hot dog.
[01:05] Mmm.
