Two members of heavy metal band Metallica plan to support their hometown team in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Sunday the best way they know how.
James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett will perform “The Star Spangled Banner” before the Golden State Warriors play the Cleveland Cavaliers at Oracle Area in Oakland, the band announced on its website. The series is tied at 2-2 going into Sunday’s night’s match.
The band’s members hail from California and have made a point of supporting the local sports teams, including the San Francisco Giants and San Jose Sharks. Carlos Santana, another Bay Area native, performed the national anthem at Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
Tune in at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday.
