Everyone is mad at Stannis Baratheon after Sunday’s episode of _Game of Thrones_, and it’s no wonder why.

Stannis put his aspirations for the Iron Throne above everything else he holds dear when he submitted to the Lady Melisandre’s advice and sacrificed his beloved daughter and only heir the Princess Shireen.

The brutal act of filicide against his sweet and innocent daughter, amid the pleading screams of his wife Selyse, hit a nerve with many avid _GoT_ fans, and, as usual, they vented their anger on Twitter.

Some expressed pure outrage:

> [](https://twitter.com/%5Fnotmichelle/status/607723150894235648)

> [](https://twitter.com/lenushka%5F13/status/607777682995044352)

> [](https://twitter.com/SheFierce1/status/607776655109701632)

Others added a touch of dark humor to the macabre scene:

> [](https://twitter.com/RagnarLothbrok/status/607724378160250880)

> [](https://twitter.com/ANNZac/status/607723663975014400)

> [](https://twitter.com/vicg613/status/607776087322411011)

While some were annoyed at the ever increasing discrepancies between the book and the TV series:
