Michelle Tanner Will ‘Still Have a Presence’ on Fuller House

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen won’t appear on Fuller House, but the character they played will “still have a presence” on the show. That’s the word from Jodie Sweetin, a.k.a. Stephanie Tanner, who told Us Weekly Michelle is not going to become she who must not be named.

“It’s not like were not talking about her,” Sweetin said on Thursday. “I love and support [Mary-Kate and Ashley], and I think we’re going to be just fine.”

Last month, it was revealed the Olsen twins would not participate in the sequel series.

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part ofFuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family,” executive producer Robert L. Boyett said in a statement to EW. “It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.”

After that announcement, star John Stamos wrote on Twitter that he was “heartbroken” by the news. Stamos elaborated on his thoughts via Facebook.

“Just so you reporters know – this is not a money gig for any of us. Quite the opposite. We want to give the fans what they deserve for supporting us for so many years,” Stamos wrote. “We all just want to have fun – do it in a classy way on Netflix and have a good time. Sad that a few don’t share the rest of the cast’s opinion – I can only wish them the best.”

According to Sweetin, filming on Fuller House is set to begin in July.
