The New Jersey punk band Screaming Females are not who you’d expect to cover a Taylor Swift tune, but the trio did it anyway, and it turned out awesome.

The A.V. Club invited the band to cover “Shake It Off” as part of its Undercover series — and Screaming Females totally crushed it. Lead singer Marissa Paternoster replaces Swift’s peppy, poppy vocals with her signature howling and wailing. She also replaces Swift’s “My ex-man…” chant with a guitar solo.
