That feeling was spot-on: Today, Metric is back with their new single “The Shade.” Not only does the synth-driven track pick up where the dreamy soundscapes of 2012’s _Synthetica_ left off, it’s also seasonally appropriate, as the normally cryptic frontwoman Emily Haines sings with unusual frankness about falling in love under the stars and holding hands by the moonlit sea.
