Here’s a Painful Lesson About Not Keeping Your Face Buried in Your Phone All the Time

A woman at a pro basketball game Wednesday night got a very tangible reminder of why it’s important to look up from your phone every once in a while. Actually, she was looking at the phone of the person beside her, but she was totally not paying attention to the game.

So, naturally, the woman did not notice a basketball flying toward her, which was a major problem:

As you can see, the ball clocked her square in the face, knocking off her glasses and giving her a bloody nose. The guy next to her sort of tried to block the ball, but everything happened so fast, because, you know, sports.

According to ESPN, the woman was more embarrassed than injured, and stayed for the rest of the game.

Kind of makes you wonder what the other person was showing her on the phone, though. A cute sloth GIF? A gross guy on Tinder? Alas, we’ll probably never know.
